The invention relates to compositions and methods for targeting sequencemodifications in one or more genes of a related family of genes using enhancedhomologous recombination techniques. The invention also relates tocompositions and methods for isolating and identifying novel members ofhomologous sequence families. These techniques may be used to create animal orplant models of disease as well as to identify new targets for drug orpathogen screening.
