A device for molding ophthalmic lens material, constituted of: a bottom force (6) comprising a base portion and a column portion having on top thereof a molding plane corresponding to one plane of the lens material; a top force (8) which defines an intermediate compartment (18) for filling a monomer composition between itself and the base portion of the bottom force, has a base portion adapted for forming an external compartemnt (20) for containing therein the monomer composition on the side of an upper opening of the intermediate compartment and a column portion, and defines a molding cavity (22) having a communication section (24) between the molding planes of the top and bottom forces; and at least three through-holes (16). This device serves to simplify the structure of a mold for molding ophthalmic lens material by means of mold polymerization and realize uniform lens configuration with good transfer efficiency.
