Misalignment-tolerant rack and pinion opening device

The opening device for a movable frame relative to a fixed frame is constituted by a rack (3) and a toothed driving wheel (4). The rack comprises a succession of round bores (5) in which wheel drivers (7) mesh. The diameter of each bore is greater than the diameter of each driver, the ratio of these diameters being between (1.1,1.3). The slope of the rounded cylinder of the distal end (9) of each driver is between (30,50o) relative to the driver longitudinal axis. The drivers which do not engage with the rack are confined in a casing (18) which comprises a loop (19) for guiding the rack and a confinement part (20) of the drivers.
