A method of producing a radionuclide generator that produces Tc-99m or Re-188. There is provided a clear solution containing a metallic cation and an anion comprising W-188 or Mo-99. Metallic cations are present in solution as dissolved complexes of metallic cations and complexing agents and / or anions are present in solution as dissolved complexes of anions and complexing agents. The eluted complex (es) decompose to form a slurry comprising a precipitate of metallic cations and anions. The precipitate is transferred to an elutable vessel of the radionuclide generator.
