Process for preparing a radionuclide generator for producing Tc-99m or Re-18R.A clear solution containing a metalliccation and an anion comprising VJ-1R8 or Mo-99 is provided. The metallic canonis present in the solution ac a dissolved complexof the metallic canon and a complexing agent and/or the anion being present inthe solution as a dissolved complex of the anionand a complexing agent. The dissolved complex(es) are decomposed to form aslurry containing a precipitate of the metalliccation and the anion. The precipitate is transferred to an elutable containerof a radionuclide generator.
