FIELD: medicine, immunology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing and using the polysaccharide exudate purified fractions from plants of species Astragalus. Method of isolation, purification and modification of polysaccharide fraction of tragacanth resin from plants of species Astragalus involves removal of natural cations from a water-soluble fraction by ion-exchange resin, isolation of polysaccharide product by evaporation or precipitation with lower alcohol and extraction of polysaccharide product with lower alcohol taken from a group: methanol, ethanol and isopropanol for product sterilization and removal of remained low-molecular impurities. Invention describes also a composition based on polysaccharide resin fraction, method of inhibition of cancer tumor growth with this composition and a method of inhibition of viral infections.
