FIELD: analytical methods in food industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drinking water obtained by treating waste waters. First, indicator aqueous suspension is prepared containing 20-30 wt % of special-type clay, 3-7 wt % of grain flower, and water - the balance. A number of vessels are filled with standard solutions with increasing flocculant concentrations ranging from 0.025 to 0.15 ml/l and with treated water sample. To these solutions, mineral potassium salts are added in concentration 0,004 to 0.01 wt % and then equal amounts (0.8-1.2 vol %) of indicator suspension are placed onto bottoms of vessels under layer of liquid. All solutions are identically agitated utilizing revolution of vessels on rotatory holders. Suspensions are then settled and aliquots of clarified solutions are picked up after specified settling time. These aliquots are subjected to turbidimetric measurements and data obtained are treated by comparison technique. EFFECT: increased sensitivity and accuracy of determination. 2 cl, 4 tbl
