FIELD: rocket manufacturing. SUBSTANCE: first mechanical draining is carried out followed by mechanical draining with nitrogen or air purging. This done, engine is placed into chamber and is heated to 40-50 C. This temperature is maintained during subsequent treatment. Then engine is subjected to thermal evacuation in several cycles. Fuel spaces are purged with hot nitrogen between cycles. Treatment is considered finished when the following three conditions are fulfilled: vacuum in spaces should be to 1×10-2Hg, nitrogen trap should show definite amount of liquid after thawing out, amount of hydrocarbons in fuel and gas spaces should not exceed preset value. EFFECT: possibility of removal of fuel remnants from engine without disassembling, with provision of degree of cleaning required for this type of engine.
