The invention relates to a device for determining mass flow. A set volume of the stream of material is continuously weighed (1) without interrupting the flow and the density of the material is determined. The mass flow is then determined volumetrically by means of a volumetric metering mechanism (2) and this measurement is combined with the density to give a measurement for the gravimetric mass flow.
