A hydraulic brake installation for rail vehicles with an anti-skid device has a brake pressure default device. An output (16) of the brake pressure default device is connected to a first electronically controllable anti-skid valve (3) which has an output that is connected via a pipe (10) to a second electronically controllable anti-skid valve (4). The connecting pipe has a branch-off point (11) that is connected to a brake force generator (14) to operate a brake. The anti-skid valves are locked in one of their positions and are open in the other position. The first and second anti-skid valves are controlled by an anti-skid electronic unit (7).
