The patient monitoring arrangement (1) has a radio transmitter unit (26.1) for transmitting heart signals, and an extra corporal receiving unit (31.2) for receiving heart signals. The arrangement is designed so that a receiving and first intermediate storage unit (31.2,34) are built together in a stationary patient unit (3). Control facilities (32,33) are also provided for initiating heart signal detection and/or the transmission of heart signals by the implanted transmitter unit in response to a predetermined positioning of the patient (P) relative to the patient unit.
