Microwave technology ignition- and combustion-support device for IC engine

A microwave technology ignition- and combustion- support device for an IC engine has at least one combustion chamber for the ignition of a fuel mixture brought into this chamber and for the supported combustion of the same. It consists of a microwave source that can be pulsed of which at least one microwave guide matched to the system, of the hollow guide, coaxial cable or microstrip conductor type, leads to the respective combustion chamber (resonator chamber) of the engine block formed by cylinder and piston. The fuel ignition takes place by the microwave pulse to be coupled into the combustion chamber at the ignition instant. The combustion chamber shape establishes a preferred frequency of the microwave to be coupled in via at least one coupling opening. The microwave excites in it a preferred mode or preferred mode mixture for the ignition and combustion.
