Production of filled and curable intermediate polyethylene material useful for heavy current cable insulation

The invention relates to a method for producing cross-linkable, loaded polyethylene masses. Two polyethylene components are used; a first component consisting of more than 60 wt. % loaded polyethylene and a second consisting of cross-linkable, non-loaded polyethylene. The components are homogenised to form a preliminary material which is loaded by 20 to 45 wt. %. However it is possible, and preferable to carry out the homogenisation and the processing in one continuous working step in order to directly obtain the end product (as cable insulation, granules or a film).
