Method of measuring radial deformations of a tunnel construction enables reliable and very accurate measurement

The method involves mounting a measurement frame (4), independent of the tunnel structure, in a measurement plane perpendicular to the tunnel axis. The coordinates of a reference point in the measurement plane on the tunnel structure and of at least two points on the measurement frame are measured from a defined point and used to define a system null point. The coordinates of at least two distance sensors (10,11) on the measurement frame and in the measurement plane are determined and used to determine the distances of the sensors from the null point. The sensors are used to measure the radial distance between the sensors and measurement markers (14,15) on the tunnel wall. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the method.
