Provided are P112 protein and P31 protein which proteins are among proteins constituting human 26S proteasome, DNAs encoding the proteins, vectors into which the DNAs are inserted and cells carrying the vectors. PPThe proteins of the present invention are useful not only for elucidating the function of the human 26S proteasome but also for the diagnosis or therapy of various diseases.
