The present invention proposes the Cytochrome P450 2C subfamily enzymes of two kinds of new type of component, is named as 2C18 and 2C19. The DNA sections coding of these enzymes is also provided. 2C19 polypeptides indicate the activity of positive 4 hydroxylases of convict's determinant people S-mephenytoin. The present invention also provides identifications by the drug S-mephenytoin hydroxylase activities of 4 metabolism. Drug is shown as metabolism, and thereby the usual individual that should not give of activity includes or belongs to ethnic group's danger, the polymorphic activity for lacking 4 hydroxylases of S-mephenytoin. The present invention also provides diagnosis to suffer from polymorphic deficiency.
