PURPOSE: To provide a vanity mirror which is relieved in collision sound and impact and offers a high-grade feel and high-quality feel by suppressing the speed at the time of closing a cover while enhancing the stability when a cover is closed. ;CONSTITUTION: This vanity mirror is formed by pivotally supporting the cover 21 turnably at a mirror body 11 supporting a mirror and energizing the cover 21 in at least a closing direction by a spring means 35. A shaft 41 is fixed to the mirror body 11 and the cover 21 is pivotally supported at this shaft 41. In addition, the shaft 41 has a friction surface part 44 increased in the coefft. of friction of the surface in sliding contact with the shaft hole 23 of the cover 21. The coefft. of friction between the cover 21 and the shaft 41 is increased by this sliding surface part 44. The speed in the closing direction of the cover 21 is deceased by the friction force, by which the generation of the collision sound and impact at the time of closing the cover 21 is suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
