PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multilayer coating film comprising a highlight part of excellent brilliance and a shade part of high saturation by coating a substrate with a colored coating material, a specified interference coating material and a clear coating material. ;SOLUTION: A resin composition of 100 pts.wt. comprising 50-90wt.% base resin, 50-10wt.% crosslinking agent and 0.1-10 pts.wt. coloring pigment are dispersed in an organic solvent to obtain a colored coating material (A) having a resin solid content of 20-60wt.%, a hiding film thickness of 15μm or above and a viscosity of 10-30sec (#4 Ford cup at 20°C). 100 pts.wt. resin composition which is the same as used in component A and 0.2-10 pts.wt., in total, 1-99wt.% aluminum oxide powder coated with a metal oxide and having a thickness of 0.1-1.0μm and a length of 2-50μm and 99-1wt.% mica powder coated with a metal oxide and having a thickness of 0.1-1.0μm and a length of 2-50μm are dispersed to obtain an interference coating material (B).
