PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an excavator by remote control to smoothly settle a pneumatic caisson. ;SOLUTION: A turning frame is mounted to the lower part of a traveling frame 5 for traveling along an excavator traveling rail 4 fixed to the lower surface of a ceiling slab 3 of a pneumatic caisson 1, and an excavation tool 7 is provided to the front end of an expansion excavating arm 8 with the basic end as a bearing to the said turning frame. A position indicating section is projected and indicated to any of the circumferential wall inside 9 of a working room 2, ceiling slab 3 and caisson lower subsoil 28 along the circumferential direction by a plurality of projectors 24 mounted to the ceiling slab 3, picture signals from a mobile monitor TV camera 11 mounted to the turning frame in the excavator 23 for taking picture of the excavation section and its vicinity and a fixed monitor TV camera 12 mounted to the lower surface of the ceiling slab 3 for taking picture of the excavator are inputted to a monitor TV installed at an operation control room on the earth, and the excavator 23 is operated by controlling an operation control board while monitoring the monitor TV camera 32.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
