PURPOSE:To easily and efficiently execute the checking/correcting work of a recognized result of a character string pattern in a drawing inputted as an image by aligning the direction of the character string pattern in the original image with the display direction of a recognized character string. CONSTITUTION:The drawing recognizing device is constituted of an image input part 1, an input image memory 2, a recognition part 3, a recognized result memory 4, a correction part 5, an image display part 6, a display 7, an operation part 8, a recognized result output part 9, a printer 10, and a control part 11. In the case of displaying the recognized result of a character string in a drawing inputted as an image on the display 7 together with drawing information to be an original image and checking/correcting the displayed contents, the original image is rotated in the direction of the character string from which the recognized result is obtained so that the direction of the character pattern coincides with the display direction of the recognized result. Consequently, the checking/ correcting work of the recognized result can be easily and efficiently executed.
