PRODUCTION OF VARIANT TYPE ORPHAN RECEPTOR AND VARIANT TYPE NOCICEPTIN RECEPTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a variant type orphan receptor required for creation of a ligand molecule binding to an orphan receptor, and further to obtain a variant type nociceptin receptor binding to an opioid ligand. ;SOLUTION: This method for preparing a variant type orphan receptor binding to a ligand molecule by incorporating mutation to an orphan receptor not binding to the existing ligand molecule, comprises specifying a ligand-binding region of a ligand-known receptor, and substituting corresponding amino acid residues of the orphan receptor with one or more amino acid residues constituting the ligand-binding region. The variant type nociceptin receptor has an amino acid sequence of a sequence number 1 which is the amino acid sequence of a wild type nociceptin receptor having the 216th amino acid residue substituted with Lys, and the 279th to 281st amino acid residues substituted with Ile, His and Ile respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
