PURPOSE: To reduce wastefulness in power consumption by informing the operator of the rotating direction which can not be in effect and also the cage number which is incapable of calling, and decreasing the drive frequency of an auxiliary drive device in association with misoperation of the operator. ;CONSTITUTION: On the basis of information stored in a cage information memory device 3 which stores the car accommodation condition of the cages Ci based upon the information given by cage calling device 1 which emits a called cage No. (i) and a sensor 2 to sense the information about the car to be accommodated or discharged, the weight loads Lr, Ll are determined by a calculator 4 which are applied when the right and the left turn is made from the condition that each cage Ci is moved assumedly to the accommodating/discharging position. The weight loads Lr, Ll of the cage Ci which is actually in the accommodating/discharging position are compared with the at-drive-start allowable load of a driver device 6, to determine the rotating direction in which the drive can not take place from the current condition and the weight loads Lr, Ll of each cage Ci are compared with the at-drive-start allowable load of the driver device 6 and also with the allowable load at cage rotating, to determine the cage No. (i) which is not capable of calling to the accommodating/discharging position, and the result is given on a display 5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
