PURPOSE: To hunt the next extension by ignoring a channel whose adaptor is not connected with an interface belonging to an extension representation by hunting the next interface when a channel counting of each interface is beyond a channel permitted number. ;CONSTITUTION: A channel counting and permitted number judging means 12 fetches channel counting information 4 and channel permitted number information 5 of the selected interface A of a storage device, and compares them with each other. As the result, when the counting information 4 is matched with the permitted number information 5 like in the interface A, an interface B is selected as the next hunting object by hunting group information 6a of an extension representative part 6, and the above mentioned processing is operated in the same way.
