PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stirring molten metal, by which the stirring in a semi-solidified working is uniformly executed, a casting method utilizing the semi-solidified working which can perform casting effectively, and a vessel used for stirring of the molten metal which easily takes out the metal in the semi-solidified state without leaking the molten metal in the semi-solidified working.;SOLUTION: Plurally prepared vessels 1 used for the semi-solidified working are composed of a first and a second half-split parts each forming projecting part and recessed part. The molten metal 4 supplied in the vessel 1 is alternately stirred downward and upward while cooled in a stirring device 4 and finally, stirred downward to complete the stirring. The metallic material 4 in the semi- solidified state is taken out from the vessel 1 and cast in a mold. When the one of vessel 1 is used for stirring, the other of vessel 1 is cooled and stuck material is removed and prepared for the following stirring.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
