PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily cover members exposed outside of an earthquake-resistant pipe, such as pushing wheels and bolts, and sealing rubber wheels or the like which cause troubles if soil or grout infiltrates or presses into them, with a simple structure while imparting earthquake resistance. ;SOLUTION: In an earthquake-resistant pipe propulsion method, a propulsion pipe 1 which comprises a straight pipe with a spigot 2 at one end and with a socket 3 capable of receiving the spigot 2 at the other end, and which is covered on its outer surface except the spigot 2 portion with a sheath material 11 having the same outside diameter from the end of the socket to the spigot 2 portion is propelled toward a pipeline, with a liner 4 inserted through the end of the spigot 2 into the socket 3. A thin-plate cylindrical cover 13 is fitted between the end face of the socket portion sheath material 11 and the end face of the sheath material 11 of another pipe in such a way as to be generally flush with the sheath material 11, and an embedded material 12 is provided between the inner surface of the cylindrical cover 13 and the outer surface of the spigot 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
