PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize leak of high pressure air to the low pressure air region of a gas turbine engine. ;SOLUTION: An axial brush seal 84 extending between a vane support 48 and a plurality of blade outer air seals 62 is provided and leak of cooling air to an air flow passage 22 for working fluid is minimized. The axial seal 84 has first and second rings 86 and 88 between which a plurality of bristles 92 are extended. Each of a plurality of the bristles has a front bristle end part 98 and a rear bristle end part 100, which are brought into contact with a vane support seal surface 53 and a blade outer air seal surface 76, and the bristle is compressed against a seal surface. Axial seal compensates the vane support 48 and a plurality of blade outer seals 62 for expansion and contraction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
