PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture a sensor by eliminating the need for insulating both electrodes by forming a counter electrode opposite to a work electrode on an insulating substrate. SOLUTION: A work electrode 12 formed on an insulating substrate 11a is allowed to oppose a counter electrode 13 formed on an insulating substrate 11b via a spacer 14, and capillary structure is formed by the work electrode 12, the counter electrode 13, and the spacer 14. An opening for conducting linearly is provided at both the ends of capillary structure 15, and a specimen can be introduced from any opening. A specimen well being linearly connected to the capillary structure is provided, the specimen touches the capillary structure for the first time when a required amount of specimen is accumulated in the specimen well, and the capillary structure is filled, thus achieving reliable measurement. Also, a piercing needle moves inside the capillary structure to pierce the surface of an organism. The specimen exits the surface of the organism due to the piercing, stays in the specimen well, and is introduced to the capillary structure when a required amount of specimen is accumulated for measurement.
