PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for promotion of thermogenesis and treatment and prevention for lowering of thermogenetic function without increasing blood pressures or pulse rate by including a specific pyrimidine derivative. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical composition for promotion of thermogenesis and/or treatment and/or prevention for lowering of thermogenetic function is obtained by including 4-chloro-5-[(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-amino]-6- methoxy-2-methylpyrimidine of the formula and its acid addition salt.
