NEW USE OF TETRAARSENIC HEXOXIDE OF NATURAL CHEMICAL MATERIAL AS ANTITUMOR THERAPEUTIC AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antitumor therapeutic agent manifesting antitumor activities by directly controlling cytotoxicity and vascularization around the tumor by including tetraarsenic hexoxide As4 O6 as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This antitumor therapeutic agent contains (A) tetraarsenic hexoxide As4 O6 as an active ingredient. The antitumor therapeutic composition contains the component A and (B) a vehicle. The component A is preferably the one of a natural chemical material separated and purified from a natural arsenalite while removing toxicity by multistep heating. The component B is preferably a Chinese medicine, e.g. the one obtained by pulverizing a resin of Calophyllum inophyllum, Manis pentadactyla, Atractylodis rhizoma, gallstone of Bos taurus, 'SINNKYOKU' phonetic, Diospyros kaki, a resin of Dryobalanops camphora, olibanum, myrrh, bark of Morus bombycis, root of Pueraria lobata, Portulaca oleracea, fruit of Schizandra chinensis, gypsum, borax, white marble or the like to form a powder, or the like.
