PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the multisession disk including a DVD application session and the device and method for recording and/or reproduction. ;SOLUTION: The disk is sectioned into a read-in area, a read-out area, and a user area having the CD-ROM format respectively and in the user area, a DVD application format based upon a specific file system is written. Consequently, inexpensive CD media are usable for music video or presentation requiring short-time reproduction; and an ordinary CD player reproduces audio information of an audio CD session, a DVD player reproduces a DVD application of a CD- ROM session, and an audio CD player which supports multisession CDs reproduces not only audio information, but also a DVD application.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
