PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering device of a vehicle having a cabin and an engine room below a vehicle hood separated from the cabin by a fire protection wall. ;SOLUTION: A vehicle steering device 10 includes a first member 80 movable to change the direction of a steerable wheel 84, and an electric motor 100 to provide the driving force to move the first member. The electric motor 100 is mounted in an engine room 46 of the vehicle. A drive deceleration unit 60 is arranged between the electric motor 100 and the first member 80. A second member 20 to be manually rotated to which the steering torque is applied, is arranged in a cabin 44 of the vehicle. A torque sensor 40 to detect and output the steering torque is also provided in the cabin 44 of the vehicle. The device 10 is provided with an electronic control unit 110 to receive the output signal and control the electric motor 100 according to the output signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
