PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television camera with exposure control function at a low cost where sensitive control to obtain a proper video level in real time is attained and restriction or the like on a layout of photodetectors is excluded. SOLUTION: An image pickup device 1 allows a photodetector placed within an image circle of an image pickup objective lens 2 to pick up a reflected light an object running in the prescribed direction synchronously with a position information signal of the object in one preceding frame or over, its photoelectric conversion output level controls a charge storage time control circuit 10 so as to change the charge storage time of the image pickup device thereby controlling the sensitivity and attaining high speed image processing.
