PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To count the number of granulocyte and to measure leucocyte count using whole blood with excellent reproducibility and specificity by a simple operation, without carrying out an operation for separation. ;SOLUTION: Blood is added to a hemolyzing diluent, a concentration of lactoferrin is measured by an immunological measuring system using a resulting diluted hemolyzed solution in which hemocytes such as granulocytes are dilutedly hemolyzed, the number of the granulocytes is calculated based on a relationship between the prefound number of the granulocytes and the concentration of lactoferrin, and leucocyte count in a whole blood sample is calculated based on a known ratio of the number of granulocytes in leucocytes. Since the lactoferrin derived from the granulocytes out of the leucocytes in a measuring sample are measured, the number of the granulocytes based on the lactoferrin concentration is measured. Since the whole blood sample is used as the measuring sample, and since the granulocytes are hemolyzed by a hemolyzer to measure quantitatively the lactoferrin derived from the granulocytes using the immunological measuring method, the number of the granulocytes is measured relatively simply with high precision in a short time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
