PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel, cast film, film, extruded bar, extruded fiber, compression molded round sheet or machining compression molded round sheet which is prepared from a plate form or tubular organopolysiloxane polymer such as an apophyllite-derived, plate form 3-cyanopropyldimethylsiloxy polymer of the formula: [((NCC3H6)(CH3)2SiO)x(HO)1-xSiO1.5]n. ;SOLUTION: A polymer is prepared by bringing a plate or tubular silicate into contact with an organohalosilane containing at least one polar group such as cyanoalkyl, alkyloxy or haloalkyl in the presence of a polar solvent or a mixture of a polar solvent and a non-polar solvent, and then heating the obtained mixture until a polymer is produced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
