PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer blend material and a fiber produced from the blend material. ;SOLUTION: This polymer blend comprises 92 wt.% to 98.5 wt.% of a basic polypropylene of an amorphous polystyrene showing 20 g/10 minutes melt flow ratio, D1 maximum draw ratio and CS1 crimp stability when drawn at 1,000 m/second into a filament and 8 pts.wt. to 1.5 pts.wt. of an amorphous polystyrene showing 15 g/10 minutes melt flow rate. The polymer blend material can be drawn at a draw speed higher than 800 m/second and can thereby provide a filament showing D2 maximum draw ratio, the ratio of D2:D1 of 1.15:1 and CS2 crimp stability and the ratio of CS2:CS1 of 1.45.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
