METHOD FOR DETERMINING PRESENCE OF SPECIFIED MATERIAL IN MILK AND DEVICE FOR EXECUTING THIS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the presence of a small quantity of blood, opus, washing solution, or urine in milk by continuously or simultaneously irradiating milk with radiations different in wavelength and/or intensity, determining the reflected and/or absorbed radiation, and accumulating it in a memory followed by comparative processing. ;SOLUTION: A milk tube 2 is connected to a teat cup 1 connected to the nipple of a milking animal, and a negative pressure is added to the teat cup 1 by a negative pressure tube 15. The resulting milk is released from a milk bottle 3 to a milk tank through a valve 4, a pump 5, a non-return valve 6, and a three-way valve 7. A sensor 11 provided on the milk tube 2 is formed of a light source and a light receiver, and a shielding means is provided thereon so that only the light reflected or absorbed by the milk is received by the light receiver. The light source is formed of a multicolor LED for irradiating the milk with lights of different colors, and the quantity of the reflected and/or absorbed radiation is determined by the light receiver. The presence of a specified material in the milk and its concentration can be detected from the absorptivity of the light of a specified wavelength.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
