PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic wave absorbing device and a method which can reliably absorb electromagnetic waves radiated from a portable telephone set, etc. ;SOLUTION: An antenna conductor pattern 18 of an antenna for receiving an electromagnetic wave having a predetermined frequency is formed on a dielectric substrate 3, the pattern 18 is connected to a high frequency dielectric resonator 5 having a cylindrical dielectric member 5a sandwiched by a pair of electrodes 11 via a coupling capacitor 8, and the other electrode of the resonator 5 is grounded as connected to a grounding plate 2 through a high frequency diode 6. An electromagnetic wave radiated from a portable telephone set is received by the antenna, a signal indicative of the received wave is absorbed as attenuated by the resonator 5 through the capacitor 8, and then grounded to the grounding plate 2 through the diode 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
