PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst to produce unsatd. aldehyde and unsatd. carboxylic acid in high yield by incorporating a solid acid having specified acidity and multiple oxides containing molybdenum and bismuth as the essential component for production of unsatd. aldehyde and unsatd. carboxylic acid by gaseous phase contact oxidation into the catalyst. ;CONSTITUTION: This catalyst for production of unsatd. aldehyde and unsatd. carboxylic acid contains multiple oxides and a solid acid having ≤-11.93 (Ho≤11.93) acidity. The multiple oxides contain molybdenum, bismuth and iron as the essential component and are used to produce unsatd. aldehyde and unsatd. carboxylic acid by gaseous phase oxidation of propylene, isobutylene, t-butanol and/or methyl t-butyl ether. The catalyst is used to produce unsatd. aldehyde and unsatd. carboxylic acid by oxidation of a compd. selected from among propylene, isobutylene, t-butanol and methyl t--butyl ether in a gas phase with molecular oxygen or gas containing molecular oxygen.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
