A process for the preparation of a fabric Softener Active comprising the steps of: a) providing a source of triglyceride and reaccionardicha source to form a mixture of triglyceridesIs Fatty Acids, esters of fatty acids or mixtures thereof; (b) using the mixture formed in STEP (a) to react; (1) under conditions of amidificacion,Imidazoline or conditions to form amines with one or more of the formular2 - N - R2 R2 - NR2 - Nr - Where R is Hydrogen or a short chain Alkyl of C1 - C6 or a group hidroxialquilo,BENZYL or mixture thereof, more preferably unalquilo C1 - C3, more preferably a Methyl, Ethyl, propyl or hidroxietio, with at least a r at each terminal being nitrogen HydrogenAnd where a group alquileno r2es that contains one to four carbon AtomsTo form a mixture of Fatty Acid amides; or (2) temperaturaelevada with Ammonia to form a Fatty amide, followed by another reaction to produce a Nitrile and the evolution of WaterNitrile is then reduced with Hydrogen or primary Amine under Global WarmingPressure and Catalyst reaction converts the primary Amine and Secondary Amine in the desired digrasa; c) optionally, cuaternizar mixture of Fatty Acid amides, amines, or imidazolines,Formed by the step (b) by reaction with a mixture bajocondiciones cuaternizantes RX cuaternizante Agent formula where r is as defined in STEP (b) and X is unanion compatibleSoftening, the mismoformar a fabric Softener Active Quaternary, where at least STEP (c), and preferably the stage (TO) and even more preferably all tresetapas (a) (b) (c)Are carried out in the presence of a chelating Agent selected from the group consisting of dietilentriaminpentaacu00e9tico acid
