The invention relates to genes for biosynthesis from the cluster of acarbose genes from Actinoplanes sp. SE 50/110, to its isolation from Actinoplanes sp. or from the production of these genes for biosynthesis, proteins encoded by the mentioned genes, expres, as well as the application of genes for acarbose biosynthesis to optimize the process.
