Edge conditioning of the pieces of meat is carried out inside freezer compartments (11) located very close to one or more cutting and packaging lines (3). A method for processing cut pieces of meat comprises conditioning the cut meat using a temperature treatment, in order to get the pieces into a desired condition for processing on the slicing and packaging lines.
