3-piperidyl-4-oxoquinazoline derivatives represented by the above formula, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, wherein: R represents amino substituted by optionally substituted aryl or optionally substituted heteroaryl, or cyclic amino such as dibenzazepine; n is an integer selected among 1-4; R3 and R4 each represent hydrogen, lower alkyl or as disclosed in the specification. Because of the excellent MTP-inhibitory activity, said compounds are expected to be useful in inhibiting the formulation of LDL causative of arteriosclerotic diseases and enabling the regulation of TG, cholesterol and lipoproteins such as LDL in the blood and cellular lipids via the regulation of the MTP activity. These compounds are also expected to act as remedies or preventives for hyper-lipemia, arteriosclerotic disease, pancreatitis, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, and hypertriglyceridemia or as described in the disclosure.
