Recombinant DNA encoding the major allergen epitopes Olea europaea 1 ole and useful for diagnosis and treatment of allergies. It has been cloned recombinant DNA encoding epitopes Olea europaea major allergen and has homology to other major allergens (Syr v 1 and Lig v 1) of other species belonging to the family Oleaceae. Pollen from these plants is of great importance in the Mediterranean allergenic account. The recombinant allergen was produced as a fusion protein with glutathione S-transferase, and subsequently separated from it by digestion with thrombin. The allergen produced (rolê e1) shows a similar antigenic behavior to the natural allergen and can be used in diagnosis and immunotherapy.
