PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR INHIBITION OF MAILLARD'S REACTION

Presented are pharmaceutical compositions comprising in admixturewith a carrier a compound of the formula:(see formula I)wherein R1, R2 and R3 independently of one another denote hydrogen or methyl,or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compositions are used toinhibit Maillard's reaction in the human body, the reaction which may beresponsible for the development of diabetic complications and age associateddisorders. Methods of treatment and prophylaxis of such complications anddisorders are also presented.
