Method for dosing a predetermined quantity of a liquid, characterized in that: (a) there is at least one capillary cavity (1,11,57), opening out through an orifice (2,21 ), dimensioned so that the liquid cannot spontaneously enter or leave said cavity; (b) there is a bath (3, 31) of said liquid; (c) the said cavity (1,11,57) is emptied, initially free of any liquid, to bring its internal pressure to a value lower than that prevailing above the liquid bath (3.31) during the step (d); (d) the interior of the capillary cavity (1,11,57) at least partially emptied is put in communication, via the introduction orifice (2,21), with the liquid bath (3,31), whereby said cavity is filled; (e) the filled capillary cavity (1,11,57) is separated from the rest of the liquid bath (3,31); (f) the filled capillary cavity (1,11,57), separated from the liquid bath (3,31), is emptied by the introduction orifice (2,21).
