Method for dosing a predetermined quantity of a liquid, characterized in that: (a) there is at least one capillary cavity (1, 11, 57), opening out through at least one orifice (2 , 21), dimensioned so that the liquid cannot spontaneously enter or leave said cavity; (b) there is a bath (3, 31) of said liquid; (c) emptying said cavity (1, 11, 57), initially free of any liquid, to bring its internal pressure to a value lower than that prevailing above the liquid bath (3, 31) during the step (d); (d) communicating, via the orifice (2, 21), the interior of the capillary cavity (1, 11, 57) at least partially emptied, with the liquid bath (3, 31), whereby one fills said cavity; (e) the filled capillary cavity (1, 11, 57) is separated from the rest of the liquid bath (3, 31); (f) the filled capillary cavity (1, 11, 57), separated from the liquid bath (3, 31) is emptied.
