In this invention, one or more impact absorbingmaterials are incorporated into and/or on the surface of the widenedportion of the goal stick to absorb the amount of rebound that thepuck demonstrates when contacting this area. The cushioningmaterials may extend from the top of the widened portion of the stickto the heel of the stick blade.
