An equidae excrement catcher/holder device (10) including an elongated pouch (14) substantially conformable to the animal's belly and extendible forwardly from the rear to or towards the rib area, fastening means (16) enabling the animal to carry the pouch (14), the pouch (14) being, in use, positioned below the animal's tail (30) and substantially between its rear legs, said pouch (14) including separate chambers/outlets (34, 36) for urine and anal excreta, the separate chamber/outlet (34) for urine having an inlet (40) inside pouch (14) on a wall (37) of pouch (14) remote from said animal, the urine inlet (40) including a funnel (46) positioned to catch a stream of urine issuing from the animal, the funnel (46) including a filter (44) to ensure that solids do not enter the urine inlet, the urine chamber (34) including a bag (48) coupled to inlet (40) via coupling (50), the bag (48) including a tap (42) for allowing release of collected urine, pouch (14) also including frame (38) to prevent closure of pouch (14).
