OIL CONTAINER INTENDED IN PARTICULAR FOR HYDRAULIC STEERING SYSTEMS IN MOTOR VEHICLES

An oil container intended in particular for use in hydraulic steering systems in motor vehicles has a container pot (1) which is closed off by a lid (2). A filter insert (3) is forced by a spring (10) supported on the lid (2) against a seal seat (18) on the container floor (12) to form an excess pressure valve. The seal seat (18) surrounds a feed duct (14) connected to the oil container and opening out into the inner chamber (5) of the filter insert (3). The said duct is separated by the filter insert (3) from a discharge duct (16) connected outside the filter insert (3) to the oil container. The filter insert (3) has a cylindrical extension (8) which protrudes from its end facing the seal seat (18) into an inner chamber (5) of the filter insert (3). The feed duct (14) is led through the extension (8).
