In a rotary compressor, when a suction pressure atmosphere is kept in a hermetic vessel (13), the situation arises that starting is not smoothly performed. On the other hand, when a discharge pressure atmosphere is kept in the hermetic vessel (13), a redundant check valve for preventing temperature rise in a condenser has to be provided so that the costs of the device become high. In order to solve these problems, a rotary compressor is disclosed, having a piston (15a) provided integrally with a blade (15b), wherein the suction pressure (Ps) atmosphere is kept in a hermetic vessel (13).
